Neeraj Chopra, India's javelin star, is a global icon. He was born on December 24, 1997 in Khandra, Haryana.

Neeraj's talent in javelin emerged at age 11. Under coach Gary Calvert, he honed his skills and showed promise.

He completed his schooling at BVN Public School and earned his degree from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh.

In 2016, Neeraj set a junior world record with an 86.48m throw, capturing India's attention.

Neeraj won gold at the 2018 Asian Games, with a record throw of 88.06m, marking his dominance.

Neeraj clinched gold at the Commonwealth Games 2018, further solidifying his position as a top athlete.

Neeraj overcame injuries to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, carrying India's hopes for a medal

At Tokyo 2020, Neeraj made history by winning India's first Olympic gold in athletics with an 87.58m throw.

Chopra secured his spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics by meeting the Olympic Qualifying Standard (OQS).

In the  qualification round, he recorded a season's best of 89.34m on his first attempt, surpassing the 84m direct qualification standard and securing a spot in the finals.

In the final, his only valid throw was 89.45m (293.5 ft), achieved on his second attempt.

The throw earned him a silver medal, finishing behind Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97m to win gold.

He recieved the Arjuna Award in 2018, Major dhyan chand khel ratna award in 2021, and Padma shri in 2022.
