Replace Petrol Usage

With the recent hike in price of petrol and diesel in Karnataka, India, we need to realize urgently the necessity of replacing petrol as a car fuel.

Vehicles can run on a wide variety of alternative fuels, including renewable energy sources.

Recycled restaurant grease, animal fats, or vegetable oils can all be used to make biodiesel, an environmentally friendly fuel.

This can then be used in diesel vehicles because, despite having a physical makeup that is somewhat similar to that of petroleum diesel, it burns far more cleanly.

When compared to regular fuel, pure biodiesel, or B100, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 75%.

Nowadays, a lot of hybrid cars employ electricity to cut fuel usage and consequently fuel expenses.

Made from the same type of alcohol as alcoholic beverages, ethanol is an alcoholic renewable.

Ethanol production and consumption have the potential to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 52–86 percent.

There are hardly any greenhouse gas emissions from hydrogen. A hydrogen fuel cell produces power and solely releases warm air and water vapour.

However, storing Hydrogen is difficult and ethanol produces less energy than petrol.

Another option is renewable natural gas, which is chemically similar to its fossil fuel sibling and so fully compatible with the current infrastructure.

Liquefied petroleum gas, or propane, is an alluring substitute since it burns cleanly and has a lot of energy.

However, vehicles that can run on propane are more expensive than those ethat run on petrol.

By considering these options as alternative to petrol and diesel, we will be doing ourselves as well as nature a big favour.
