Three New Criminal Laws

The goal of criminal law is to give society guidelines for acceptable and unacceptable conduct.

Establishing standards for what behavior is acceptable and undesirable in society is the aim of criminal law.

India recently formulated three new criminal laws to deliver modern day justice.

Modern system of justice includes SMS summonses, online complaint registration, and zero-friend report filing.

On Monday, July 1, three new criminal laws went into force nationwide.

These are- the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam

In contrast to rules from the British era that prioritized criminal action, the new legislation, according to Union home minister Amit Shah, will place more emphasis on delivering justice.

These laws are intended to strengthen the legal and court administration systems and provide prompt justice while putting an emphasis on "access to justice by all."

The new laws will present some problems, but in order to assure their implementation, we must accept them with a new perspective and step outside of our comfort zones.

These laws were formulated after lengthy conversations with various stakeholders, such as members of parliament, multiparty MLAs, ordinary citizens.

By taking an inclusive stance, the law is certain to represent a range of viewpoints and tackle current issues in the criminal justice system.

The vast majority of people in society follow the law, but more people are inclined to break the law if their group does not support it.

As a result, laws must adapt to the shifting attitudes and values of society over time.

These laws are made by Indians for the Indian citizens and marks the freedom of India from British rule.
